Introduction: Ivorian-born defender Zogbe Vireak, who now holds Khmer citizenship, has made a mid-season move to Thai League 2 side Police Tero FC. The 29-year-old joins on loan from Visakha FC as an ASEAN quota player, with the deal running until the end of the 2024/25 season. Visakha Football Club officially announced the transfer on Thursday.

10 Years in Cambodian Football: Zogbe Vireak has spent the past decade establishing himself in the Cambodian Football League, starting with Nagaworld FC in 2014. He went on to represent Build Bright United, Boeung Ket, and Prey Veng FC before signing with Visakha FC in August 2024. However, due to Cambodian Premier League (CPL) rules allowing only one naturalized player per team, the club opted to register captain Khan Mo instead of Zogbe.

A New Chapter in Thailand: The move to Police Tero FC offers Vireak a fresh start. Known for his physicality and defensive prowess, the centre-back is expected to bolster the Thai side’s backline. At 29, Vireak brings a wealth of experience and versatility to his new team, potentially aiding their campaign in the second half of the season.

Looking Ahead: The move to Police Tero FC ensures Zogbe Vireak will gain more playing time, allowing him to stay sharp and competitive. With regular minutes on the pitch, he also strengthens his prospects of representing the Cambodian national team on the international stage, a goal that aligns with his naturalized Khmer status and years of dedication to Cambodian football.
