Historic Moment for Cambodian Women’s Football: For the first time in history, Cambodian female footballers will compete in the Thai Women’s Premier League. Cambodian national team players Yon Yeurn and Hok Saody, who currently represent NagaWorld Women’s Football Club, are set to join Bangkok Women FC on loan for the upcoming season.

Official Announcement from NagaWorld FC: NagaWorld FC confirmed the move in an official announcement on Friday, stating that the two players will head to Thailand after completing their current season in the Cambodian Women’s Football League, where NagaWorld has reached the semi-finals.

A Groundbreaking Milestone: This marks a groundbreaking milestone for Cambodian football, as female players step onto the Thai league stage for the first time. Until now, only male Cambodian footballers had competed in Thailand, including notable Khmer-French players Ratanak Villay Sengtong, who played for Kanchanaburi FC in Thai League 2 during the 2023/24 season, and Thierry Chanthabin, who represented Krabi FC in 2017 and Sukhothai FC in 2020.

International Experience for the Duo: Striker Yon Yeurn brings prior international experience to the table, having been loaned to Lao club Young Elephants to compete in the AFC Women’s Champions League group stage. For Hok Saody, this will be her first opportunity to play abroad. Both players are key figures in the Cambodian women’s national football team and are seen as trailblazers for the country’s growing presence in international football.

National Achievements: Yon Yeurn and Hok Saody have already made significant contributions to Cambodian football. They played pivotal roles in helping the national team reach the semi-finals of the 2023 SEA Games and finish as runners-up at the 2024 AFF Women’s Championship in Laos this past December.
